Reflection

I have been out of school four of the five days this week. My kids had what I thought was the stomach virus and it never went away. This all happens, of course, on a week that my husband isn't able to get off work! We went to the doctor yesterday to find out that it is the flu! No fever, no other symptoms... CRAZY!

In my time at home I have realized (even with changing numerous diapers and washing sheets and cleaning vomit form the carpets) just how incredibly busy this first semester of teaching has been! It has flown by but when I stop I am just exhausted by all that has been going on. It is crazy that the throwing up is calming.... I really have enjoyed teaching and I think I will enjoy it much more next year when everything isn't so new! I have realized through having to take four days off just how blessed I am to have a job that allows me to be a mother first. My coworkers are so supportive and helpful along with my principal.

Next week will be spent digging myself out of the hole that has been dug this week while I was out and that thought is a little overwhelming. My kids sent me letters on Thursday that were so incredibly sweet. I will really miss those guys next year, even though they drive me completely crazy sometimes.

All of that to say that with a week to reflect on the semester that is almost over, It has been SO challenging, SO SO rewarding, and overall a great experience.
